Job summary

Qualifications

• 2–3 years recent experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Strong computer knowledge with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with insurance and government payer regulations and other third-party billing requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/check-out patients; collect copayments and balances.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments; coordinate care with providers.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to visits; obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Respond to patient calls and inquiries; route messages to appropriate staff.
• Maintain patient records; ensure HIPAA compliance and a welcoming environment.
