Job summary

Midwest Eye Consultants is seeking a Patient Services Representative to facilitate communication between patients, doctors, and staff. You will verify insurance, obtain pre-authorizations, check patients in/out, schedule appointments, and manage billing-related inquiries.

The role requires a high school diploma and prior medical office experience, with knowledge of medical coding/billing preferred. A comprehensive benefits package and certification opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.
• Previous medical office experience and knowledge in medical coding/billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, assist in patient communications and recalls.
• Respond to patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies and available services.
• Prepare patient chart prior to appointment and complete upon patient arrival.
• Enter data into EHR and verify insurance information for claims and referrals.
• Balance cash drawer and process daily deposits; run end-of-day reports.
