Forefront Dermatology in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our frontline team. You will greet patients, check in for appointments, verify insurance, scan documents into the electronic health record, and help maintain a tidy waiting area while delivering friendly, efficient service.

In this full-time role, you will handle a multi-line phone system, manage schedules, assist with following up appointments, process co-pays, and support office operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
• Proficient in basic computer functions and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality and present a professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties.
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance.
• Scans documents into electronic health record.
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day.
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day.
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed.
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record; orders clinic office supplies.
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products.
• Distributes mail.
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments.
