Job summary

UC Health in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Patient Services Representative to be the primary contact for patients as they enter, leave, or request assistance in our facilities. You will deliver courteous, patient-centered service and help guide patients through registration and scheduling processes.

The role involves coordinating pre-registration, insurance information, MyChart enrollment, and co-pay collection, while maintaining compliant workflows and supporting clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree.
• Minimum: 0–6 months equivalent experience.
• Preferred: 1–2 years equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population appropriate communication.
• Gives clear instructions to patients and family regarding treatment.
• Involves family/guardian in assessment and continuing care.
• Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
• Recognizes and responds to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
• Interprets population data and plans care appropriately.
• Identifies and responds to diverse needs from religious/cultural norms.
• Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely.
• Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.
• Front Office: greet patients, answer questions, coordinate scheduling changes, assist patients in locating destinations, arrange transportation, conduct lobby rounds, answer calls, HIPAA adherence, end-of-day reconciliation.
• Pre-Registration: verify benefits, obtain authorizations as needed, follow up on missing data.
• Registration: collect and verify patient data, assist with MyChart enrollment, collect co-pays.
• Insurance Coordination: update insurance changes, complete Medicare questionnaires, ensure billing completeness.
• Clinical Coordination: assist with referrals, pre-visit planning, scheduling, medical records, reminder calls.
