Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Middletown, CT seeks an entry-level Customer Service Associate to manage patient check-in/out, registration, and insurance processing. The role requires clear communication and accuracy in data entry, with day shift hours 11 am–7 pm.

You will educate patients on policies, collect co-pays, and coordinate appointments while supporting a busy MSO environment across multiple practices.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with check-in/check-out processes.
• Knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time with reliability.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient check-in and check-out, with accurate data entry.
• Complete full patient registration.
• Educate patients on office and billing policies and insurance participation.
• Ensure forms are completed and on file (insurance, referrals, authorizations, waivers).
• Collect and verify patient insurance details, confirm eligibility, and process co-pays and/or balances at time of service.
• Submit daily payment collection reports.
• Schedule follow-up appointments; document cancellations or reschedules.
• Coordinate tests, labs, imaging, outside referrals; obtain insurance authorization.
• Provide outstanding customer service and assistance to patients.
• Answer phones; take messages; direct calls to appropriate department.
• Manage record requests and releases with Medical Records.
• Open and close office as needed.
• Maintain professional, respectful work environment.
• All other duties as assigned.
