Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Patient Services Specialist 1 to provide administrative support in a physician office or clinic. You will help with patient check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones to ensure a high-quality, patient-centered experience.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient registration, collecting insurance information, directing patients, handling payments, posting charges, and supporting medical records as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a patient-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient duties including relations, check-in, check-out, scheduling, insurance verification, and answering phones.
• Assist with patient registration by collecting and verifying insurance information and updating records.
• Accept payments for physician/clinic services according to guidelines.
• Post payments and enter charges using appropriate codes.
• Generate daily payment reports and reconcile cash drawer.
• Provide accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information to patients or approved outside entities.
• Respond to routine inquiries concerning practice services and hours of operation.
