Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a patient registration specialist to obtain and verify insurance and pre-authorizations, schedule tests, and collect self-pay, co-pays, and deductibles across the Medical Imaging of Fredericksburg locations.

You will greet patients, answer phones, enter outpatient imaging orders, maintain records, monitor workflow, and coordinate with insurance and physician offices to ensure accurate billing and smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Two years related experience in a call center, patient registration, patient accounts, or patient billing preferred.
• Experience in third party insurance and insurance terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 codes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers in a courteous and professional manner; provides excellent customer service.
• Answers telephones promptly and transfers calls or takes messages as appropriate.
• Schedules tests as ordered by a physician using scheduling software.
• Works to ensure accurate insurance verification and pre-authorizations; collects co-pays and deductibles.
