Job summary

St. Elizabeth Physicians is seeking a Patient Service Representative I to collect demographics and insurance information, handle payments, and deliver excellent customer service in a busy medical office.

You will enter data into EMR, schedule tests and referrals, and support daily operations while complying with OSHA and HIPAA regulations. The role involves a 40-hour workweek with a rotating weekend schedule, and benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 403b match.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is required or preferred.
• Experience with medical office software is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments by phone or in person.
• Verifies demographic information and current insurance.
• Collects co-pays and outstanding balances.
• Ensures accurate data entry into EMR and practice management systems.
• Answers phones within three rings and provides courteous service.
• Communicates with physicians and staff about patient scheduling.
• Completes daily close-out procedures and referrals.
