Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact in the physicians' network. You will support outpatient scheduling, registration, and patient flow with a focus on accuracy, courtesy, and timely service.

In this role you will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, verify eligibility, and help with billing. You will coordinate referrals and communicate with the care team to keep delays and issues minimal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 1 year of relevant work experience required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Strong computer, customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle confidential information.
• Interpersonal skills to work with diverse people.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient appointments and manage referrals.
• Greet patients and provide front desk support.
• Register patients and enter demographic and insurance data.
• Collect payments and maintain cash drawer.
• Answer phones with a standard greeting and relay messages.
• Prepare and send patient correspondence and HIM requests.
• Coordinate with care teams about delays and patient needs.
• Cover at other locations as needed.
