Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative for Front Royal, VA (Warren Memorial Hospital). This full-time, first-shift role supports appointment scheduling, registration, and patient reception within the ambulatory care team.

The incumbent collects demographic and financial data, verifies insurance, and helps ensure accurate revenue capture. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of relevant experience, strong computer and communication skills, and the ability to handle

Responsibilities

• Scheduling outpatient appointments following clinic guidelines and offering alternatives as needed.
• Directing requests to adjust schedules for review by supervisor before acting.
• Sending appointment reminder letters electronically per guidelines.
• Processing urgent referrals and routine referrals within set timeframes.
• Obtaining prior approvals to ensure smooth patient care workflow.
• Welcoming patients, providing required documents, and easing delays in care.
• Obtaining and validating demographic/insurance information for registration.
• Maintaining accurate cash handling, payments, and balance in the drawer.
• Answering phones with a standard greeting and taking accurate messages.
• Handling health information with confidentiality and HIM processes as required.
• Cross-covering at other locations and maintaining office supplies.
