Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is seeking a Patient Services Representative II to enhance patient-families' experiences by managing clerical tasks, including call handling, registration, and billing support.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical setting, and must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary

The Patient Services Rep II provides patient-families with a positive experience at CHLA by performing clerical tasks primarily associated with answering incoming calls, registration, making outbound calls, collecting patient co-pay, deductibles, and/or outstanding balances. Completes financial clearance and authorization duties, serves as the administrative support for providers. Works closely with providers to ensure notes/documenting and corresponding billing is completed in a timely manner. Assists with creation and review of performance reports and metrics.

Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in customer service, preferably in a medical front office setting.
• Basic knowledge of computers, filing and organizational skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with the public.

Preferred

• Bilingual in English/Spanish.
• 3+ years of experience in medical office setting.
• Ability to provide customer service over the phone.

Education / Licensure / Certifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
