Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in medical office support preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Accurate data entry and documentation skills.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Books, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments.
• Greet patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.
• Maintains and updates provider schedules.
• Answers telephone, screens calls, and provides information to callers.
• Contacts patients to confirm appointments.
• Assembles patient charts and creates charts for new patients.
• Collects demographic and insurance information and enters into computer.
• Obtain signatures on consents and insurance forms.
• Verify coverage with insurers and establish PCP where necessary.
• Classify claims in the computer for correct pay source.
• Answer inquiries about regulations and services; refer when needed.
• Manage daily cash collections and exit billing.
• Maintain log of uncompensated care applications.
• Input data into ancillary databases and batch daily encounters.
• Perform other front end duties as assigned.
