Responsibilities include greeting customers, ensuring specimens are collected on time, adhering to safety and privacy policies, and maintaining records.

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers in a courteous manner.
• Ensures field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens per established procedures and explains venipuncture clearly to patients.
• Disposes of biohazard materials per laws, standards, and policies.
• Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information accurately into the computer systems.
• Matches requisitions to specimens and labels, centrifuges, and processes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity and temperature as required.
• Maintains daily records and PSC/IOPST logs; assist with monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties including electronic data entry and document handling.
• Adheres to grooming, lab coat policies and safety procedures; manages fluctuating patient flow.
• Communicates with supervisor for resolution of issues and supports a positive work climate.
