Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the PSC and in-office operations. You will perform venipuncture, collect and process specimens, and interact with patients and clients professionally. Responsibilities include data entry, requisition matching, and maintaining records with attention to accuracy.

The role requires strong adherence to safety and privacy guidelines, ability to handle fluctuating patient flow, and a commitment to quality service in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (may be required based on state guidelines).
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens per established procedures and explains venipuncture and specimen process clearly.
• Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in compliance with laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient and test information into computer with attention to detail.
• Matches requisition forms to specimen tubes and preserves specimens as required.
• Maintains daily records and PSC/IOPST logs; assists with monthly statistics.
