The University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking a Patient Services Intermediate for the Guest Assistance Program. This full-time, on-site role supports social workers, triages requests, and helps patients navigate their healthcare journey.

You will manage referrals, coordinate with insurance providers, and maintain patient records while assisting in obtaining insurance authorizations across state plans. The role includes strong benefits and ongoing education support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare, patient access, care coordination, insurance authorization, or related administrative environment.
• Demonstrated experience handling a high volume of incoming calls, triaging requests, coordinating information, and directing inquiries to appropriate departments or personnel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the front-line introduction to the Guest Assistance Program and social work services.
• Triage all requests and route to appropriate departments.
• Navigate external calls and connect to the right staff.
• Disseminate referral information to insurance and care management.
• Maintain accurate communication in EMR and other systems.
• Assist with obtaining insurance authorizations across state plans.
• Maintain current contact information for insurance providers.
• Support department goals through participation in work groups.
