Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Lead Patient Support role to coordinate and provide patient services across outpatient settings. You will greet patients, schedule appointments, handle payments, and maintain medical records using EMR systems.

The position requires strong communication and problem-solving abilities, at least one year of customer service experience, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Some travel to other clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience.
• Strong problem solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and checks in patients, updates demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answers calls, takes messages, and communicates with referring offices.
• Performs check-out processes including co-pays, scheduling, and documentation of activities.
• Monitors patient wait times and notifies the appropriate staff of delays.
• Manages incoming/outgoing mail and tracks program data as applicable.
• Requests and handles referrals and medical records for new appointments.
• Schedules appointments as directed.
• Maintains cash drawer, reconciles cash, and processes deposits as assigned.
• Obtains registrations or pre-certifications from insurers as required.
