Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) is seeking patient services associates to join a dynamic team across more than 100 outpatient locations. The PSAs will coordinate and provide patient support services, including greeting patients, scheduling, and payments, while maintaining accurate records.

The Lead positions will assist management in day-to-day operations and help ensure smooth clinic functioning through effective communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to convey information in writing and verbally; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and checks in, updates demographics and insurance in system.
• Answers calls, relays messages, communicates with referring offices.
• Performs check-out, collects co-pays, schedules returns, and documents visits.
• Monitors patient wait times and escalates as needed.
• Opens mail, distributes correspondence, tracks data.
• Requests and handles referrals and medical records for new appointments.
• Schedules appointments as directed.
• Maintains cash drawer and reconciles daily cash when assigned.
• Obtains registrations or pre-certifications from insurers as required.
• Supports staff with software and systems usage.
• Travel may be required to support staffing at other facilities.
