Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. seeks a patient services associate lead to support front-desk operations at outpatient locations in Columbus. You will greet patients, register and check in, collect payments, schedule appointments, and maintain records in EMR or paper charts.

This role will help lead daily operations, requiring strong communication, multitasking, and a confidential, patient-centered approach. Some travel to other clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, registers and checks in patients and updates demographics.
• Answers calls, relays messages and coordinates with referring offices.
• Collect co-pays, schedule visits, and document follow-up care details.
• Monitor patient wait times and escalate as needed.
• Process mail, records, and office supplies; route referrals and medical records.
• Schedule appointments and assist with deposits and cash handling.
• Coordinate with insurance for registrations and pre-certifications.
• Utilize patient software and EMR systems; travel to other clinics as needed.
