Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of work experience as a Medical Receptionist/Patient Service Representative.
• Six months of experience using Microsoft Office software and electronic medical record software.

Aufgaben

• Greet patients and answer telephone calls in a friendly, courteous, helpful and professional manner.
• Register and update current patient demographic and insurance information in electronic medical record system at the beginning of each patient’s visit.
• Assist patients who need help filling out registration forms.
• Verify patients’ insurance eligibility.
• Reconcile daily charges and payments according to route slips, cash box and management information system.
• Assist patients who have disabilities as needed.
• Collect payments and co-payments from patients.
• Send uninsured patients to an Enrollment Specialist for assistance.
• Mentor new Patient Service Representatives.
• Assist co-workers with the use of relevant software.
• Assist Office Manager with chart audits.
• Assist Office Manager with Patient Service Representatives scheduling.
• Take lead responsibility when Office Manager is not in the office.
• Assist Office Manager in reducing insurance payment denial rates and provide additional training to other Patient Service Representatives in insurance verification when needed.
• Make bank deposits for end of day receipts.
