Job summary

UT Health San Antonio's PreDoc Dental Clinic is seeking an entry-level Patient Services Representative to support front-desk activities, schedule appointments, perform check-in/out, verify insurance benefits, obtain authorizations, and provide telephone triage. Under direct supervision, you will greet patients, manage registrations, collect copays, maintain records, and route calls.

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with the ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements.
• Ability to monitor important and complex projects concurrently.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes/other email software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting memorandums and letters.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, verifies insurance eligibility, reviews registration, obtains authorizations, and assists in collecting copays.
• Maintains patient records and prepares charts, ensures test results are filed.
• Handles phone calls and routes to appropriate departments as needed.
• Manages patient appointments aligning with physician schedules and protocols.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
