Job summary

UT Health San Antonio seeks an entry-level Patient Services Representative for the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic in Laredo, TX. Under supervision, you will schedule appointments, check patients in/out, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, and provide telephone triage support.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, managing registrations, maintaining records, and handling calls. A HS diploma or GED is required, with preference for bilingual English/Spanish and EPIC experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
• Experience using EPIC is preferred.
• Experience working in a dental office/clinic is preferred.
• One (1) year of related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration, obtains authorizations, assists in the collection of copays and enters new patient information.
• Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts.
• Ensures test results are filed.
• Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
• Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
