Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of medical office terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, patients and families in a friendly, professional manner.
• Maintain efficient patient flow during registration and provide customer service.
• Answer telephone promptly, direct calls and take accurate messages.
• Inform patients of delays and assist with comfort when schedules are delayed.
• Process self-pay charges, collect payments, and provide receipts.
• Open/close batches, reconcile deposits, and document corrections.
• Scan insurance cards, verify coverage, update patient accounts.
• Schedule appointments and manage waitlists per guidelines.
• Enter orders for diagnostic tests and procedures.
• Coordinate pre-authorizations with clinical staff and referrals.
• Communicate issues to Office Supervisor/Manager promptly.
