You will greet patients, verify demographics, check insurance, schedule appointments, and manage EMR records while maintaining HIPAA standards. A positive, organized approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years' experience with front desk operations, patient scheduling, phone handling, and customer service preferred.
• Knowledge in EMR and other medical office software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets and checks in patients; verify demographics, insurance eligibility, and collect payments and co-pays.
• Answer and direct phone calls; triage urgent clinical needs when necessary.
• Schedule patient appointments; manage calendar, reschedule or cancel as needed.
• Verify patient insurance information and process authorizations.
• Assist with patient registration and data entry; maintain records in EMR and paper files as needed.
• Ensure patient confidentiality per HIPAA; participate in staff development and meetings.
