Job summary

Neighborhood Health Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative to welcome patients, verify insurance, schedule and adjust appointments, and handle co-payments. The role emphasizes kindness, fairness, and teamwork in a fast-paced front desk environment.

You will work primarily at 300 Niagara St., Buffalo, with potential travel to other Neighborhood sites. A high school diploma is required, and a second language (Spanish) is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to read, write and speak English; Spanish is a plus.
• Customer service skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Medical office experience or terminology knowledge is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients upon arrival and check them in.
• Verify patient information and update in the computer system.
• Confirm appointment times, locations, and providers.
• Collect co-payments and explain billing / sliding scale when applicable.
• Maintain front desk reports and daily schedules.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
• Communicate delays and coordinate with front desk lead.
