Job summary

Patient First is seeking a front-desk helper to assist patients with the self-service kiosk, escort those needing urgent care to the correct area, and support physicians and nurses with timely requests.

You will explain billing policies, verify demographics and insurance details, and register patients with compassionate, efficient service while handling payments and maintaining the front office area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours; lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients needing emergency assistance to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
• Respect Physician and Nurse requests with timely service.
• Explain billing policies, including insured and uninsured charges.
• Register patients accurately with exceptional customer service and compassion.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized statements as requested.
• Collect payments and issue receipts per the EMR system.
• Discharge patients and process incurred charges; manage cash with end-of-shift tally.
• Receive, move, and stock supplies; maintain front office area.
