Job summary

UPMC University of Pittsburgh Physicians in Pittsburgh is hiring a Full-Time Patient Services Representative to support the Department of Neurological Surgery. You will greet patients, explain copayments, schedule follow-ups, and help patients navigate self-arrival technologies.

Preferred but not required: Epic experience and knowledge of insurance and referrals. You will work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at 200 Lothrop St, Ste A402, with on-site parking noted

Qualifications

• Preference for Epic experience and knowledge of insurance and referrals.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• HIPAA rules and financial responsibility awareness required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly upon arrival and ensure a positive UPMC Experience.
• Assist with administrative duties such as scanning medical records and faxing.
• Guide patients in using self-arrival technology or check-in at desk.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and connect patients with resources she/he may need.
• Confirm/verify insurance benefits and assist with registration for MyUPMC portal.
• Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service.
• Provide information and educate patients about financial obligations.
