Job summary

UPMC in Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative for the Complete Primary Care Associates - South Side team. The role is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends or holidays, and involves welcoming patients and guiding them through check-in procedures. You will collect copayments, verify insurance, schedule follow-ups, and help patients access MyUPMC, while promoting consumer-friendly technologies and ensuring a positive patient experience across UPMC

Qualifications

• Greeting patients and guiding them through check-in or self-arrival options.
• Handling copayments and other payments at point of service.
• Verifying/ updating patient demographics and insurance information.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients.
• Guide patient through use of self-arrival technology or check-in at desk.
• Collect copayments and any other applicable patient payments at the point of service.
• Confirm and/or update patient registration information at checkout and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Provides follow-up to unresolved patient questions or needs to ensure continuity of care.
• Understands service recovery principles and take action to recover from service gaps.
• Promote MyUPMC patient portal and assist patients with registration.
• Confirm/verify insurance benefits with carriers via online systems or phone.
• Obtain signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility per HIPAA rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
