Job summary

Douglas County Health Department seeks a patient-focused Patient Services Representative to support clinic operations. You will coordinate registration, verify insurance, and manage payments using Athena, while collaborating with clinical and billing staff to provide welcoming, confidential service.

The role is 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with a nonexempt status and hourly pay of $16.00–$19.00. Starting salary depends on experience and qualifications; benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service, a medical office, patient registration, insurance verification, or payment collection preferred.
• Experience with Athena or another electronic health record system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments and update information as needed.
• Complete patient checkout and collect copayments and balances, explaining accounts clearly.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and financial assistance as needed.
• Enter payments in Athena and support accurate billing and data integrity.
