Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians seeks to lead a patient support team that greets patients, collects demographics, and processes insurance data. You will handle calls, messages, scheduling, and ensure smooth checkout with accurate documentation.

The role involves coordinating referrals and medical records, managing cash handling where applicable, and supporting routing to the right departments. Travel to other clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to convey information both in writing and verbally.
• Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors, registers and check-in patients, updates demographics and insurance in the system.
• Answers patient calls, relays messages or care directions, and communicates with referring physician offices.
• Performs check-out processes including co-pays, scheduling, after-visit summaries, and follow-up tests documentation.
• Monitors patient wait times and notifies the appropriate party of excessive delays.
• Opens and routes mail, distributes correspondence, and tracks patient information or program data.
• Requests and handles referrals and medical records for new patient appointments.
