Job summary

University Physicians' Association is seeking a qualified full-time Patient Service Representative for a rheumatology office located at UT Medical Center or UT Medical Center Halls in Knoxville.

You will greet patients, facilitate forms for the EHR and billing, verify insurance, process co-pays, manage front-desk flow, answer questions about registration and billing, refer medical inquiries to medical staff, schedule patients with the correct physician, and scan documents into the EHR.

Qualifications

• Previous medical office experience is not required.
• Candidates should have strong customer service, attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

• Ensure that patients complete necessary forms required for the electronic health record and billing office
• Maintain patient demographic and insurance information; verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays
• Ensure good patient flow through the practice by timely processing of patients at front desk

• Refer patient inquiries regarding medical care or treatment to medical assistant or physician
• Schedule patients with the appropriate physician
• Document scanning into the electronic health record
• Other duties as assigned
