About the Hospital

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawaiʻi’s only maternity, newborn, and pediatric specialty hospital. It is recognized as the state’s leader in care for women, infants, and children, with 253 beds and 6,000 babies delivered each year. The hospital is a medical teaching and research facility and serves patients throughout Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Region.

Otolaryngology Department

The department’s board‑certified physicians specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgery of the ear, nose, throat, and related head and neck structures, overseeing patients with hearing, balance, sinus, injury, cancer, infections, deformities, and foreign bodies in the upper respiratory tract.

Position Overview

As a Patient Service Representative, you will ensure patients and families receive warm, friendly, and considerate assistance. You will act as a liaison between patients and professional staff, facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview, register, admit, update, and create patient medical records.
• Process professional and technical fees generated by department providers accurately and timely.
• Handle cash collection and related processing.
• Provide excellent communication and customer service skills while working independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• At least one year of clerical support experience in a healthcare setting or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Experience with EPIC.
