Job summary

Baystate Health in Belchertown, MA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our Adult Medicine team. The PSR greets patients, registers them, verifies demographics and insurance, collects co-pays, and schedules follow-ups in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment.

You will work 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:15pm, with no weekends or holidays. High School Diploma or GED required; 6-18 months of PSR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; 6-18 months PSR experience preferred (PSR I/II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).
• Role is part of a career ladder; PSR IV is for internal progression.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics; ensure referrals/pre-authorizations are in place.
• Request proof of insurance and verify coverage using automated systems.
• Collect co-pays and document payments.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments per guidelines.
• Check-out by reviewing patient info, scheduling future visits, and providing referrals.
• Answer and route calls; manage inbox messages; prepare documents while HIPAA compliant.
