TEKsystems in Odessa, TX is seeking a Scheduler to support clinical operations by organizing patient appointments and tests, acting as a liaison between patients and medical staff. This contract-to-hire role emphasizes timely scheduling, confidentiality, and adherence to compliance standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in a medical office, strong organizational skills, and basic understanding of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years medical office experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules returning patients in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
• Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
• Maintains primary office scheduling template containing physician meetings, satellite schedule, rounding and call coverage.
• Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
• Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/practice.
• Covers for other front office functions as requested.
• Prepares correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
• May be responsible for scheduling post-operative follow up appointments with Physicians.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology for tests and scheduling procedures.
