Job summary

Adventist HealthCare, based in Maryland, seeks an experienced Patient Service Specialist for the AMG Scheduling Call Center Department. You will greet and direct patients, schedule appointments and tests, verify demographics and insurance, and handle pre-registration and patient counseling on balances and costs.

The role requires strong customer service, typing, and familiarity with IDX scheduling systems, with a 40-hour workweek and day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 3 years’ experience in providing customer services is necessary.
• Experience with a computerized patient scheduling system is necessary.
• Typing skill of 30 wpm is necessary.
• Familiarity with Medical insurance and medical terminology is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients for appointments, tests, referrals, and information.
• Schedules patient appointments and tests using a scheduling system and prepares notices.
• Obtains and verifies patient demographics, insurance information.
• Performs pre-registration and registers patients into the system.
• Counsels patients on unpaid balances and anticipated costs.
• Prints forms and reminder cards to facilitate encounters.
• Responds to inquiries about services and scheduling procedures.
• Balances daily cash receipts and deposits.
