Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator responsible for all aspects of established patient scheduling in accordance with department guidelines, delivering superior customer service to patients, families, physicians, and staff.

The role works with a clinical practitioner group and supports patient care, triage calls, directs patient flow, and ensures accurate scheduling across standard and research protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health administration or related field preferred.
• Up to 1 year healthcare or customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication required.

Responsibilities

• Handles appointment scheduling for single or multiple providers according to guidelines.
• Collects detailed clinical information face-to-face, by phone or electronically.
• Triages calls and directs patient flow; acts as liaison between patient, family, and providers.
• Identifies emergencies and applies standard operating procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Schedules complex research protocols and coordinates with in-house studies and trials.
• Maintains provider schedules, handles daily changes, and prepares for shifts.
• Participates in training for new hires.
