Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Patient Scheduler to join our team. The role schedules appointment times, gathers patient demographics and insurance information for appointments across our facility and physician practices.

You will communicate with patients and families, coordinate with staff, obtain pre-authorizations when needed, and enter data into the EMR with accuracy in a fast-paced call-center environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in customer service, preferably healthcare.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with effective listening and problem resolution.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer tools (email, intranet).

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointment times using scheduling programs.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure facility and staff availability and preauthorizations.
• Communicate with patients/families to provide pre-procedure instructions and confirm appointments.
• Intake demographics, insurance information, and pre-authorizations as needed.
