Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is hiring a patient care sitter in Minnesota to support nursing staff by observing patients, responding to call lights, transporting within the department, and assisting with safety and documentation.

The schedule is 32 hours per week, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotating weekends and holidays. A high school diploma is required, and BLS must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Influenza vaccination is required for staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or enrolled and near completion of High School Health Sciences program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Completes hospital-approved de-escalation training during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuous observation of patient at arm's length.
• Participates in patient rounding as directed by the RN.
• Answers call lights and communicates patient care issues to the RN.
