Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or enrolled and near completion of High School Health Sciences program.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuous observation of patient within arm's reach.
• Participates in patient rounding as directed by the RN.
• Ensures environmental safety for patient.
• Answers call lights and directs care issues to the RN.
• Restocking department supplies and precaution stations.
• Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations.
• Cleans patient equipment according to the designated process.
• Completes patient safety sitter competency and all required documentation.
• Communicates changes in patient behavior to the RN.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities.
• Respects cultural beliefs and uses interpreter services for LEP patients.
