Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient safety sitter to support the care team. This part-time role covers 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM shifts with rotating weekends and holidays, requiring close patient observation and prompt communication with registered nurses.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, transporting within the unit, restocking supplies, and documenting all care activities. A High School diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 3 months are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or near completion of Health Sciences program.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
• Completed de-escalation training during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Direct observation of patient at close range and communicate changes to the RN.
• Assist with patient rounding, safety, and transport within the department.
• Restock supplies, clean equipment, and document patient care activities.
• Use interpreter services as needed for limited English proficiency.
• Adhere to safety laws, hospital policy, and regulatory requirements.
