Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts seeks a Health Care Aide to join our patient‑centric team. This 32‑hour per week role runs 11:00 PM–7:30 AM with rotating weekends and holidays, offering meaningful, hands‑on support to patients.

Under RN supervision you will observe patients, participate in rounds, ensure safety, answer call lights, transport patients, restock supplies, complete documentation, and communicate changes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
• Hospital de-escalation training during unit orientation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuous observation of patient at arm’s length.
• Participates in patient rounding as directed by RN.
• Ensures environmental safety for patient.
• Answers call lights and routes issues to the RN.
• Transports patients within the department as needed.
• Restocking department supplies and precautions stations.
• Completes patient care documentation.
• Communicates changes in patient behavior to the RN.
• Participates in unit quality improvement activities.
• Respect cultural beliefs; use interpreter services as needed.
