Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a patient care support role to assist with direct patient observation under RN supervision. The position involves monitoring patients at arm's length, responding to calls, and maintaining a safe environment within the unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a current Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire. De-escalation training will be completed during orientation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED/HS Health Sciences program is required or in progress.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
• Complete hospital-approved de-escalation training during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and continuously observe patient at arm's length.
• Participate in patient rounding as directed by RN.
• Ensure environmental safety for patient and respond to call lights.
• Restock department supplies and transport patients as needed.
• Complete patient care documentation and report changes to RN.
• Communicate any changes in patient behavior to the RN.
• Participate in unit quality improvement activities as directed.
