Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Patient Safety Companion to join our team!
Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Safety Companion (PSC) is responsible for providing in-person, constant, alert observation and monitoring of patients demonstrating behaviors that pose a threat to self or others while maintaining a direct line of sight to the patient. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSC ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes the risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The PSC may also assist with basic activities of daily living.
HOURS: Supplemental or 0.4 FTE, 32 hours every 2 weeks. Varied shifts.

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is the flagship of the Aspirus system that serves patients in 14 counties across northern and central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is a licensed private/not-for-profit facility with 325 beds and staffed by 350 physicians in 35 specialties. Outpatient visits exceed 50,000 and there are also more than 24,000 annual emergency department visits.
