Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Registration Specialist to manage check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission processes. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, obtain signatures, and ensure HIPAA and EMTALA compliance while supporting timely revenue cycle operations.

The role requires strong computer skills, professional communication, and attention to detail. Occasional remote work may follow a 6-month onsite onboarding period, with a starting pay

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions preferred.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with registration software.
• Professional and courteous communication with customers and staff.
• Ability to exercise appropriate and timely independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Register patients at check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission, collecting accurate demographic information.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, government payors, and joint commission rules.
• Obtain and scan photo ID, insurance cards, signed forms and orders into the medical record.
• Maintain system work queues and handle calls, faxes, and scans.
• Cross-trained with Scheduling, Authorization, & Referrals to assist as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to maximize reimbursement and ensure smooth patient flow.
