Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Registration Specialist to support check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission processes. You will verify demographics, collect payments, and ensure HIPAA compliance while working with scheduling and referrals as needed.

The role emphasizes accurate data capture, courteous customer service, and timely patient flow, within a high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
• Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and software programs.
• Must maintain a professional and courteous manner in dealing with customers and staff.
• Must demonstrate appropriate and timely independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission.
• Obtain demographics, verify information, and collect co-pays and payments.
• Answer phones, fax, scan, and assist with Scheduling, Authorization & Referrals as needed.
• Maintain system work queues and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Protect confidential information per HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
