Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Registration Specialist to support check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission processes. You will gather demographics, verify insurance, obtain signatures, and ensure CMS, EMTALA, and Joint Commission compliance.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and a couple of years of related experience. Expect a team-driven environment with attention to data accuracy and timely patient information flow to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
• Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and software programs.
• Professional and courteous communication with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Obtain photo ID, insurance cards, signed forms and orders and scan into the medical record at registration/admission.
• Maintain system work queues and handle related duties.
• Answer telephone, fax, scanning, and other duties as assigned by the manager.
• Cross-trained with System Scheduling, Authorization & Referrals to assist as needed.
• Work with staff to maximize reimbursement and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Deliver quality customer service and adhere to Saint Francis Mission and Values.
• Handle confidential information appropriately and follow policies.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
