Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Registration Specialist to manage check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission duties. You will collect demographic data, verify insurance, obtain signatures, and scan documents into the medical record.

You will work with scheduling, authorizations and referrals as needed, answer phones, process payments, and ensure compliant, efficient patient flow to support reimbursement and patient care.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
• Must efficiently utilize computer software and maintain professional manners in communication.
• Must demonstrate appropriate and timely independent judgment and handle sensitive information per HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission processes.
• Obtain demographic information, verify insurance, signatures on consent forms, and scan into the medical record.
• Answer phones, fax, scan documents, and manage system work queues; assist as needed.
• Cross-train with Scheduling, Authorization, & Referrals to support workflow.
• Collaborate with staff to maximize reimbursement and ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality customer service.
