Job summary

Apicha Community Health Center in Jackson Heights, NY, is seeking a Patient Associate to join our full-time clerical team. You will register patients, collect co-pays, and enter information into the EMR, contributing to smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED with 2 years of working experience required.
Some college education with 1 year of working experience preferred.
Excellent customer service skills are required.
Experience in outpatient clinic reception is preferred.
Written and verbal communication skills in English required.
Proficiency in Word and Excel and ability to enter data accurately.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Ability to sit in front of computer long hours.
Commitment to professional development.
Experience with people living with HIV/AIDS preferred.
Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
Knowledge of eClinicalWorks EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

Register patients and collect co-pays and payments for services.
Enter registration information in EMR and manage patient records.
Receive and direct incoming calls and relay messages.
Assist with patient flow and schedule appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility prior to appointments and obtain pre-authorizations.
Communicate with patients to ensure smooth clinic operations.
