Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a patient registration specialist to manage front-desk activities, verify insurance, and collect payments with empathy and efficiency. You will greet patients, confirm eligibility, preregister, and respond to inquiries while upholding service standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Strong computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and EPIC are preferred; ability to communicate clearly by phone and in person, and to instruct others as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in patient admitting/registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification preferred.
• EPIC training/experience preferred.
• Insurance payor systems experience preferred.
• ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating procedures for patient registration activities including reception, check-in, preregistration, and insurance eligibility confirmation.
• Responds to inquiries from callers/customers and advocates on their behalf to meet needs.
• Acts as a welcoming front door for all callers, instilling loyalty and providing efficient customer relationship management.
