Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative for the hospital setting. You will help patients register, answer questions, and gather accurate information in a fast-paced environment, often under stress, with comprehensive training provided.

You’ll work across systems, handle insurance details, and support clinicians and staff, ensuring a calm, compassionate experience for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements.
• Medical or healthcare experience (but not required!)

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training!)
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time
