Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is hiring for a front desk/ patient access role in the Houston area. Responsibilities include greeting patients, processing registrations, collecting payments, and verifying insurance in Epic.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of direct face-to-face customer service.
• 1+ years of cash handling or collections experience.
• 6+ months in a medical office/healthcare setting in a customer-facing role; or
• Epic Front Desk training or 2+ years in KSC CBO/Managed Care/Contact Center exposure.

Responsibilities

• Commits to collaborative interaction with patients to achieve excellent customer service and high levels of satisfaction.
• Processes check-in and check-out on POS system; collects fees, co-pays, deductibles, self-pay and other balances.
• Registers new patients, updates insurance and demographic information in Epic; communicates wait times and assists with forms.
• Assists with patient/account information routing and proper documentation in Epic; verifies insurance coverage.
• Maintains cash control procedures for opening/ending cash and balancing.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the site manager.
